DAVID LEE GARZA Y LOS MUSICALES "ESTAMOS UNIDOS" DBO'S REVIEW: ESTAMOS UNIDOS was released a few weeks ago. DLG fans waited anxiously for this album and it is well worth the wait. It was highly anticipated for a few reasons 1. it is the first album with Mark Ledesma on lead vocals, 2. there were various rumors about special guests and finally it had been almost 2 years since the Musicales last offering. When finally released this CD was an instant success, the first single of this album is "De que te Quejas mi amor" and it skyrocketed to the top of charts all over Texas. The first single is a classic DLG song very upbeat and smooth. Mark Ledesma's first album with Los Musicales shows why Tejano fans are very excited about the future of Los Musicales with him on vocals. Ledesma's powerful vocals grace this album on 11 of the 16 tracks. But as if that wasn't enough this CD also includes a rare reunion with Ram Herrera, Jay Perez and a doublely rare offering with Little Joe. There are also 2 great songs with Louie Padilla of La Firma. This CD is the most diverse album that Los Musicales have produced, it still gives it's fans the rancheras that they have gotten used to but the best part is how they experiment with different sounds hoping to attract a younger crowd. Overall this CD is a classic in the making, take it from me, I purchased 2 of these babies. PIO TREVINO Y MAGIC EN CONCIERTO DBO'S REVIEW: If you are a fan of 80's style Tejano, then you will love Pio Trevino y Majic en Concierto. It has great hits such as "Ven" and "Si Tu No Estas." This cd brings 80's Tejano to you live from Houston Texas and with the vocals of the flamboyant Pio Trevino this CD is a classic. LA MAFIA SOLAMENTE EXITOS DBO'S REVIEW: CAPITAL EMI has finally done the right thing, they released a CD with some classic hits such as "A Donde Vas," one of my favorites. LA MAFIA SOLAMENTE EXITOS is a great CD that reminds doubters that LA Mafia was a Tejano Band once. Let's hope that EMI re-releases other classics, here's my vote for some CARA records of Mazz or Mafia. MAYO 30 GREATES HITS DBO'S REVIEW: FREDDIE RECORDS released this gem a couple of years back. Mayo's music is not available except in this great compilation of their greatest hits. It includes great tunes such as: Basta De Tu Amor, Luna, and Yo Te Progongo, but don't think those are the only good songs, the whole ablum is full of great tunes. Grupo Mayo de Al Chavaria is a throw back band that combined good keyboards with a very soulful sound that makes their sound very different.Basta De Tu Amor is the first track and sets the stage for a ride through 80's Chicano Music. CARLOS GUZMAN Y LOS FAB 4 "STILL KICKIN S" DBO'S REVIEW: MUSADISC re-released this great CD . It was originally released by Falcon Records. This album contains the hits Cual de los dos, A ese que vive contigo, and Me Basta. This CD combines the expierence of the FAB 4 with the international vocals of Carlos Guzman. This album was originally released in the 80's, so you know it has the keyboards that is a trademark in 80's Tejano music. This CD is a must have classic. EMILIO GUERRERO AND CHARRO BAND "CORAZON ENAMORADO" DBO'S REVIEW: HACIENDA RECORDS re-released this CD a few weeks ago. Until this gem was released by Hacienda, Emilio was only available via cassestte. This album contains the hits El Desesperado, and Corazon Enamorado. Emilio was one the underrated talents of La Onda in the 80's and after fans pleading with Hacienda to re-release his music, Hacienda has done the right thing.
